Buying Advice

Before buying a second hand car its important for you to take your time and do some homework.

There are many risks so its better to do your research rather than rush into just any "deal". Below are some general tips on buying a used car.

Service History

Always purchase cars that are sold with Full Franchise Service History. If there is no full franchise service history then you cannot be sure 100% sure of the entire history of the car.

M.O.T.

Ask for the vehicle's registration numbers in order to check the vehicle's M.O.T status/history and advisory if any on the last M.O.T.

Clocking

Clocking is the illegal practice of winding a high mileage car to increase its apparent value or asking price.
By having a full franchise service history and a DVLA history check you are safe that what you are about to purchase is what you see in the real world.

Vehicle History

Investigate the History of the Car. You can make several different checks through the DVLA including a private history check and an MOT check to make sure the certificates aren’t false.

Mechanical Inspection

Ask for Mechanical Inspection Report

Asking Price

Compare the validity of the asking price by cross checking with various sources.
